Name:

Siri Maddi

Location:

Frisco, Texas USA

Award:

PVSA Gold Award

Contribution in Year:

2020

Contribution in the Year 2020: Through the DYC platform, I was able to contribute 100+ community hours by hosting workshops, a community book drive, fundraiser, and more.
By hosting online workshops DYC has helped me share my skills globally, expand my reach and allows many students to learn new skills from the comfort of their own home. It gave me the opportunity to improve my communication and leadership skills while also gaining confidence in myself and my abilities. DYC is an amazing platform that provides many opportunities for students, and gives flexibility and allows them to improve themselves. I encourage others to become a student leader and join the growing the DYC community.

About Me

Hi! I am Siri Maddi, a freshman at Centennial High School. I am passionate about medicine, art, and sports. Some of my hobbies are baking, drawing, and playing basketball. I discovered my love for basketball when I joined the club team and playing basketball competitively has become one of my favorite pastimes. I also love hiking and being able to explore new places. I started hiking when I was younger, and ever since then, I’ve always gone and enjoyed it.
I’ve always enjoyed teaching and helping others growing up, because the idea that just using your skill set to help others is so simple yet it can help others tremendously. When I learnt about Design Your Careers, I loved the concept of just sharing knowledge with others, and also improving myself at the same time, so I joined as a student leader. As a student leader, I have hosted multiple online Spanish workshops and introduced others to the language. The platform of Design Your Careers allowed me to reach many students and share my skills. Hosting these online workshops has helped me improve my communication and leadership skills which has been very beneficial to me.
Joining the DYC Platform has been a great experience and I am so grateful for the opportunity. It has allowed me to expand my reach and share my skills to many students globally from my own home because of DYC’s virtual platform. By sharing my skills, I was able to improve many of my own skills and also gained confidence in myself and my abilities. I thank the DYC team for providing this opportunity to me and some many other students globally. I highly encourage all students to join Design Your Careers and experience their own journey.
