DYC Free Study Club

We are thrilled to present a new club that is aimed to make learning a smooth and supportive experience across all subjects. This initiative aims to help students with their homework and deepen their understanding of various academic concepts learned in school. As mentors, our role will be to guide students through challenging problems, clarify questions, and help them develop effective problem-solving skills. This workshop will focus on creating an environment for students where they feel comfortable to ask questions and receive on-spot feedback. Based on each mentor’s area of expertise in English, Math, Science, etc, our goal is to establish a strong foundation in each subject and ultimately enhance their confidence and competence. Your dedication and knowledge will make the workshop valuable and fun for students and allow them to discover the joy in learning.

We invite new mentors to develop workshops within the club based on the subjects they are most confident in teaching, as well as students of all ages. We will then match students with the mentors whose expertise aligns best with the areas where they need help in.

FAQS

This club addresses various subjects tailored to the area of specialization of our mentors.

This is an open club where students will come in with their homework or discuss challenging concepts learned in class. Mentors have the flexibility to schedule specific days and time slots each week to focus on different levels or topics. For instance, a Math workshop might be divided into sessions on arithmetic, pre-algebra, and algebra 1 throughout the week on different days.

Our mentors will choose to conduct workshops in subject(s) in which they feel the most

confident and expertized, allowing them to the best of their ability to help students.

Students should bring their own textbooks and problem sets, but in addition we can also

utilize other online resources to provide additional help.

With the school year beginning, it is important to recognize that students come from

various locations, following different curriculums. This means that they will be leaning

different material based on their local school. Therefore, it is more efficient and beneficial to help students with specific questions they have throughout their academic year, rather than us creating lesson plans and teaching them. Students bring in questions they have on their homework or need to review specific topics in preparation for a quiz or test.

This club aims to help students in subject areas where they will need the most help in. Additionally, mentors will be available to give students their complete attention, helping them understand material, tackle homework, and help them prepare for tests/quizzes.
